Check in at Pinehurst Resort
Pinehurst Resort was originally established in 1895 by James Walker Tufts as a health retreat. The towering pines and mild Southern breezes were thought to have medicinal effects. The firm of Frederick Law Olmsted, the landscape designer acclaimed for creating New York City’s Central Park, prepared the physical plan for the Village of Pinehurst.
Pinehurst offers three historic hotels, as well as condominiums and villas, all within walking distance of one another and each located within the charming Village of Pinehurst. Complimentary resort transportation is offered from all accommodations to golf and other resort amenities.
You will be staying at the Carolina Hotel, which opened in 1901 and was soon dubbed the “Queen of the South.” This signature hotel has 230 guest rooms and is on the National Register of Historic Places.

Tee-off at redesigned Pinehurst #4!
Pinehurst No. 4 (Gil Hanse) was reimagined in 2018. Visually stunning from tee to green, exposed sand areas, vast cross bunkers and native wire grass meld with the site’s rolling topography and natural ridge lines to create dramatic vistas and strategic options on every hole. Hanse’s design of Pinehurst No. 4 is a brand new and bold expression of pure, timeless Carolinas Sandhills golf. It’s a companion in the landscape, but not a tribute to No. 2 in the features.

Play Pinehurst #2
Caddie included
Pinehurst No. 2 (Donald Ross) – Built in 1907, Pinehurst No. 2 is largely considered Donald Ross’s greatest masterpiece. It has served as the site of more single golf championships than any course in America including the
U.S. Open and the Ryder Cup Matches. No. 2 is best known for its crowned, undulating greens, which are some of the most complex and widely hailed in the world. In 2011, the team of Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw completed a restoration of the course returning the natural areas and strategic shot values that Ross originally intended.

Play The Craddle – the new stunning short course at Pinehurst
On September 30, 2018 – nearly 120 years after golf arrived at Pinehurst – the historic resort will open The Cradle, a nine-hole short course that even the newest to the game can enjoy. Designed by golf architect Gil Hanse, The Cradle, at 789 yards, features holes ranging from 56 to 127 yards. Mere steps from the Resort Clubhouse, it is the same area where, in 1898, Dr. Leroy Culver carved the first nine holes out of the sand at Pinehurst.
Hanse’s design incorporates the native sandscape and wiregrass common to the original courses of Pinehurst. With holes that meander along the rolling terrain, The Cradle’s greens subtly blend into the surrounding landscape and are protected by rough-hewn bunkers, all features that have long been hallmarks of Pinehurst golf.

Defined by a dramatic routing along the Lake Oconee shoreline, this Rees Jones design is a true risk/reward layout. The Oconee course offers inspiring lake views while presenting options to play shots over inlets of Lake Oconee, or carry corners of tree-lined doglegs.A set of magnificent par 3s feature elevated tee shots and numerous water hazards that are both eye-catching and penal. Interior creeks and ponds, as well as extensive bunkering, ensure a tough-but-fair challenge for every level of player.
Through the years, the Oconee course has established a reputation as a visually stimulating, challenging and playable layout.
TUESDAY April 13th

Play National Golf Course
Designed by Tom Fazio in 2000 and recently renovated in 2014, The National course at Reynolds features three distinct nine-hole layouts fashioned from the richly colored textured “paints” of grass, sand, trees and water found in the hardwood forests and rolling terrain of the region.
The Ridge, Bluff and Cove nines that make up The National offer unmatched playing opportunities. The trademark of the course is its dramatic elevation changes from tee to fairway, as well as on approach shots – some as much as 60 feet. The typically large greens are defined by noticeable undulations, along with fairways that wind through dense forests of Georgia pines and hardwoods, flowering wild dogwoods and azaleas, while offering spectacular panoramas of Lake Oconee and the Oconee River Valley. The three nines are named for the type of terrain they feature and no two holes are alike but all share a consistency in feel for the way they match the natural contours, a total 27-hole golf experience.
